Kalmar

You can travel to Kalmar by car, bus, train, plane or boat. Affordable bus trips depart from both Stockholm and Göteborg and we offer daily train connections to Stockholm, Göteborg and Copenhagen.

The Copenhagen train also takes you straight to Kastrup airport, if you wish to continue your travels out in the world. Kalmar Airport is located about a 10 minute drive from the centre and offers many daily connections to both Arlanda and Bromma airports.

Should you choose to arrive to Kalmar by boat, you are welcome to moor in our guest harbour, located right in the centre of town.

Kalmar is one of the oldest cities in the country - once it even was the third biggest town in Sweden. History waits behind each corner - you will find traces of "all times" - everything from the stone age to the period of a great power.
Take a walk on the cobbled streets in the old town and finish with a visit to Kalmar Castle, that has a history that goes 800 years back in time. Today it is a living Renaissance palace with room for both feasts and conferences.

On the County museum you will find the biggest treasure of gold coins in Sweden - see it together with all other findings from the man-of-war Kronan. When the evening arrives the fun is not over , now it starts! Kvarnholmenhas a seething life on pubs and restaurants and in the summertime we offer entertainment both on Larmtorget and in Stadsparken.
